In view of the surging numbers of COVID-19 cases every day and the hardships faced by people nationwide, the Government of Telangana on 05.05.2020 passed an order to cancel the Summative Assessments Examinations for classes I to IX of all aided, private and private unaided schools across the State and thereby promote all the students to the next higher class for the year 2020-21.

The said order was passed after considering the letter furnished by the Commissioner of School Education, Telangana, dated 29.04.2020 wherein he informed about the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s announcement of promoting all the students studying in classes I to IX for the academic year 2020-21 without conducting any sort of examinations. K. Chandrashekar Rao made the announcement considering the impossibility of conducting examinations during the present scenario of lockdown in the State.

Furthermore, the Commissioner of School Education, Telangana was directed to take appropriate measures regarding the same.

Recently after the number of cases drastically increased in the State of Telangana, in order to control the spread of the outbreak, the Telangana Government ordered to extend the lockdown until 29.04.2020.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is the defining global health crisis of the present times and the greatest challenge we have faced till date. Almost 1,886 people have lost their lives to the outbreak nationwide with 56,342 positive cases registered in the country.
