In view of lockdown 4.0 which was announced in view of the COVID19 pandemic across the country on 17.05.2020, the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi extended the suspension of functioning of all subordinate and district courts of Delhi until 31.05.2020.
The extension was made vide order dated 21.05.2020 by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. The said order was made in pursuance of Order No.40-3/2020-DM-1(A) dated 17.05.2020 issued by the Government of India regarding continuance of nationwide lockdown up to 31.05.2020.
The circular released by the Hon’ble High Court stated as follows, “pursuant to order dated May 17 issued by the Government of India regarding continuance of nationwide lockdown up to 31.05.2020, the Administrative and General Supervision Committee of Delhi High Court has decided to further suspend the functioning of the Delhi High Court and all subordinate courts and district court of Delhi till May 31″. It further ordered that the matters listed in the subordinate courts from 26.05.2020 to 30.05.2020 be adjourned en bloc and information in this regard be uploaded on the District Court website.
COVID-19 cases in the country have already surpassed the 1 Lakh mark and the total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 1,18,447 as of now.
