With the summer vacations commencing, Justice SJ Kathawalla of the Bombay High Court presided over to clear out his board upto the wee hours of the morning of 5th May 2018. Justice Kathawalla had some 130 odd cases to preside over on 4th May 2018 in Court Room number 20. Whilst hearing the matters, most of which were listed on the supplementary board for urgent hearing, ad-interim orders were passed in many of these matters. Being known as a Judge who tends to complete all the matters listed on his board even before the end of the day, he had also presided over and heard matters in the last week of April 2018 all the way upto 11.30 pm – 12.00 am.

 

About Justice SJ Kathawalla

Justice Kathawalla was a member of the bar since 1985. He practised on both Original and Appellate Sides in the Bombay High Court in Civil, Constitutional, Company and Arbitration matters. He appeared in the Supreme Court, various High Courts, Tribunals, District Courts etc. He was elevated to the bench after 23 years of practice on July 18, 2008. He was confirmed as a permanent judge of the High Court in 2011.
